RBS were
retained to undertake the cosmetic refurbishment of this
building in the heart of London to maximise the new
leasing opportunity. Spread over four floors, the old
flooring was taken up, the surface was prepared to
ensure an even tread and new, hard-wearing carpet tile
was laid. The old
carpeting, and all rubbish left by the previous tenants
was removed and disposed of. Full redecoration
throughout was carried out from the basement to the
third floor, including walls, window frames, skirting,
stairwells toilet and kitchen areas. The existing carpet
in the stairwells was steam cleaned.
Internal partitioning was removed to provide a more
open-plan aspect to the basement accommodation. Repairs
to the toilets and kitchen were made. Some lighting was
changed to Cat 2 specification, and all lighting,
including the emergency units, was inspected and
certificated. Investigating an existing leak to the
first floor, the patio area on the second floor was
resealed. A full builders' clean was carried out upon
completion of the refurbishment, giving a 'ready to move
straight in' feeling to prospective tenants. |

The
Department of Health has given a public commitment to
eliminating mixed-sex accommodation, bathroom and toilet
facilities for hospital inpatients. As a result, RBS
were approached by Yeovil Hospital, who provided a
trusted solution - We supplied and installed
floor-to-ceiling
partitioning specifically designed for the healthcare
industry to create 13 individual bays. Within each run,
two partitions were installed, allowing the installation
of a double glazed window into which we installed
integral privacy blinds.
Cleaning is a major issue for healthcare providers;
after preparing the floor, vinyl coved upstands were
installed, eliminating gaps between the floor and
partitioning. The design of the central steel stud
allows the void depth to be increased up to 600mm,
enabling services such as gas, electrics and air to be
carried and concealed. This, coupled with the sealed
window units, allows easy regular cleaning. Steam
cleaning can also be used on the floors and walls to
ensure continued high levels of hygiene. As working
hours were restricted due to the requirements of the
busy ward, RBS carried out the improvements over three
consecutive weekends, starting at 19.00 on Fridays. |

A major
refit of this leading law firm's offices included the
installation of a large run of floor-to-ceiling storage
units, finished in durable MFC. New offices were created
by the use of full-height toughened 12mm glass partitioning, silicone
jointed and sited into silver aluminium U-channelling.
Due to the confidential nature of the business, all
glazed surfaces had frosted manifestation applied,
allowing both security to the occupants and for natural
light to filter through. This theme was continued at the
entrance.
Specially-manufactured door handles in the shape of an
'M' were installed, along with design, supply and
installation of new signage running the width of the
shop-front. |

RBS
carried out and fully project-managed this major
remodelling of Samvo's new offices based in a
prestigious London building. We started by carefully
dismantling existing stud walls. Minimising the
potential mess whilst carrying out this work, we then
placed the debris into appropriate bags and removed from
site. Upon this blank canvas, we supplied and installed
50mm stud partitioning and accompanying doors to create the new rooms and offices required,
working to our agreed designs and plans. In addition,
glass partitioning was installed where openness and
additional light was required.
We also increased existing sound insulation between the
ceiling and floor slab. As an intensive user of data
facilities, we installed several dozen floor boxes, each
containing three data points, one coaxial point and
electrical power. All cabling from the server rack to
new workstations was installed, fully colour-coded for
easy identification, tested and certificated. Planning
diagrams and cable rack planning diagrams were also
supplied for future use.
All the new furniture was installed, with existing
furniture repositioned as required. Where required,
lighting was modified to suit the new workstation
layout, power outlets were fitted to each desk and the
bank of plasma screens was repositioned. |

RBS were
retained by Faith to design and install all the offices
required in the shell of their new two-storey building
in north London. We recommended a combination of glazed
and solid partitioning and Beech doors to allow both
privacy where required whilst retaining a light and
spacious ambience. Glass sections were centrally glazed
with white PVC, bead framed directly to the floor and
ceiling with white powder-coated aluminium. The
Directors office was double glazed for additional
privacy. Toughened glass screens were installed to the
break-out areas. |

RBS
designed, supplied and installed both solid and glazed
partitioning within these period offices in the centre
of Oxford. We initially created a corridor to lead to
the toilet facilities in solid 75mm stud partitioning,
with Isover insulation between the boards and a one hour
fire-rated door with vision panel. Originally an
open-plan area, RBS created a bank of offices along one
length, with solid partitioning for privacy between the
offices and floor to ceiling 10mm glazed partitioning to
the front, to allow excellent natural light penetration.
The offices were also provided with Memerase
write-on-wipe-off wall covering to five walls.
The original carpeting was removed and disposed of, the
floor prepared, and relaid with a heavy duty loop carpet tile. As a final
touch, the Whitespace name and logo was installed as a
manifestation to some of the glazed surfaces. |

Requiring a number of alterations and updates to their
premises, Woodley School retained RBS to carry out the
works, completed over a four-week period during the
summer break to minimise any disruption and to ensure the
new facilities were fully available at the start of the new
school year. We also liaised with the local council to
arrange building inspection and building control submission
to secure the necessary building and alteration permissions.
The project included the stripping out all blockwork to
the staff kitchen, a small classroom and a changing/shower
area. All ceilings were skimmed to provide a level surface,
and new suspended ceilings were installed with Cat 2
lighting. All walls were replastered, some external doorways
were bricked up, and new partitioning installed. A new
break-out area for the children was constructed. Screed was
utilised to even the floor level between two areas, and part
of the roofing was strengthened. Vinyl flooring and
carpeting were laid and electrical work was carried out,
including the installation of a distribution board. |

RBS were commissioned to supply and fit over 600 linear metres
of partitioning at two educational sites in Tottenham and
Ashford. One site specified pre-finished board, with the
second requiring vinyl wall covering. Due to specific acoustic
requirements, a Rockwool infill was utilised to ensure the
correct level of sound deadening. Almost 50 doors of various
types (single, double, hospital) were sourced, supplied and
fitted, all fire-rated and with vision panels, fully complying
with all current Health & Safety regulations. Full project
management was supplied. RBS successfully completed all works
within the tight deadline required. |

“RBS were a pleasure to work with and we were very happy
with the result.”
Ms Fiona Hancox. Jetstream Logistics |
|
RBS fitted out
this new building shell for Jetstream in Colnbrook. We
designed, supplied and constructed toilets and a kitchen on
the ground floor, with offices and a meeting room on the
mezzanine level. The comprehensive list of works included
lighting, flooring, ceilings, electrical works, plumbing,
glazing, window blinds, partitioning, dry lining, waste
requirements and decoration.
In addition, we installed a full data system for their
logistics operation. An effective, and economical to operate
air-conditioning system was also supplied and installed. To
create a pleasant working environment, oak wood flooring was
laid to the offices, meeting room and stairway, with anti-slip
vinyl flooring provided in the toilets and kitchen areas. |
